New Year, Now What?

Every time a new year comes around, it’s natural to wonder what’s next. Some write goals for the new year, create a letter to their future selves, begin a gratitude jar, start a fast, begin a new hobby, etc. Personally, I’ve done everything on that list over the years. This time, I’m not only thinking about my personal life, but I’m also thinking about the growth I would like to see for Be Rooted Collectives in 2026.
In 2025, some great strides were made for the business:

Launched my website on September 1st, 2025
Secured six clients for my website design and development services: a jewelry business, a class reunion website, a health and fitness business, a luxury fragrance business, and two travel businesses
Posted 12 blogs with 10 writers from the community
Deepened my passion for the work while building a foundation that will last
I’m proud of the progress that I have made so far. I’ve stopped viewing goals as hard finish lines and have instead looked at them as beautiful mile markers along the journey. Over the past few months, I was able to intentionally seek the perspectives of those in the community and Black-owned businesses. It has been a joy to amplify their stories while sustaining a platform for people to be empowered and inspired.
Looking Ahead
In 2026, Be Rooted Collectives will build on the foundation that has been made and reach more people. This will be done through unique collaborations with Black-owned businesses, broadening the platform for the Be Rooted Blog series, a scholarship for students, and more.

Community engagement has always been something I have been passionate about. For those who don’t know, I graduated with my Master of Public Health last year with a concentration in health equity and social justice. A person’s health can be influenced by their environment and connectedness to their community. Community building is a form of wellness.
Since the inception of Be Rooted Collectives, I’ve always viewed the business as a movement, not a singular moment. With branches stretching in multiple directions, I’m excited for all that’s to come. The mission of BRC is to water the roots of entrepreneurs, small businesses, and communities to cultivate growth, foster creativity, and amplify their voices. This is so much bigger than me. I’m excited to continue learning from you all and growing with you.
How are you feeling entering 2026?
